This will likely come as no surprise but 'We Have Always Lived In The Castle' is one of my favourite books by Shirley Jackson. I also adore her short stories like 'The Possibility Of Evil' as it caters to my blackmail and poison pen letter fetish. I created this more stylistic piece of art and kept calling her 'Merricat' and stupidly not really connecting the two (for anyone who hasn't read We Have Always Lived In The Castle, Merricat Blackwood is the main character and serves as the narrator's voice). In homage to the book, here she is as a fake cover.
